A good headshot may be able to get you work, while a bad one can quickly cost you work. A great headshot though, now that, that can really help you stand out among the crowd and get you noticed and get you work. A great headshot pays for itself every time a client contacts you and hires you for your services. In a 2018 article in Forbes, the author writes, “Within the first seven seconds of meeting, people will have a solid impression of who you are — and some research suggests a tenth of a second is all it takes to start determining traits like trustworthiness.” That means, when someone views your profile picture, or the image on your website or marketing material, they have often made their mind up in less than seven seconds whether they want to work with you!

Bad headshots can do more damage to your name and brand than you may think. A poor headshot fails to accurately represent your professionalism and authority in your field. It can cause others to doubt your ability and even cause self-doubt. A poor headshot can cost you income! Remember, seven seconds is all it takes! As a professional, shouldn’t you ensure the community is seeing the best version of you in your marketing?

If you’re like me, then I get it. I understand how uncomfortable having your photo taken can be. It doesn’t seem natural to stand in front of a camera and have someone tell you to say “Cheese”! I wonder, will my expression be genuine? Will I appear confident? Approachable? That’s where a professional headshot photographer comes in! We help you look and feel your best. We will work with you to produce an image that accurately portrays your personal brand and we do it by using bad jokes, offering you something to drink and just being real with you! You’ll never hear me say “Cheese!” during a session. Instead, I’ll have a conversation with you and help you forget you’re getting your picture taken.

The beginning of the year is a great time to update your headshot. In fact, it’s recommended to update at least every few years or anytime there has been a noticeable change in your appearance. We’re here for you! It’s as easy as booking the session, showing up to the session and then choosing your images! At the end, you’ll have an image you can be proud of. An image that accurately represents you, reveals your confidence and approachability and will allow people to move towards working with you in that critical first seven seconds.

The other option? Well, you can always keep that selfie, but if you do, there’s a high chance you’ll be leaving money on the table. Contact us to update your image!
